Seth Rollins Hits Back At Roman Reigns For Working Reduced WWE Schedule

seth rollins wwe world champion talk

Seth Rollins used social media to take a shot at Roman Reigns while also commenting on his own health status.

There is a long history between the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins and the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

The two men debuted in WWE together as The Shield (with Dean Ambrose) at Survivor Series 2012. Over the last 11+ years, they have established themselves as all-time great WWE superstars who are still in their prime and are future Hall of Famers as well.

At the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff Event in Las Vegas, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns found themselves on the stage together again. The two men exchanged insults. Rollins said that Reigns showed up to work for once and it’s good to see him. Reigns said that Seth showed up wearing his wife’s shoes since Rollins had shoes that had bows on them.

Cody Rhodes ended up choosing to face Roman Reigns and his Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 40, which didn’t make The Rock happy. The Rock slapped Cody in the face after Reigns insulted Cody’s father and Cody insulted Reigns & Rock’s family legacy.

That’s when Seth Rollins yelled at Rock that he didn’t run this place. Rock shouted at Cody that he’ll slap the piss out of him again. Rollins told Rock he doesn’t get to do whatever the f**k he wants. Rock said he does whatever the f**k he wants to do.

On X/Twitter, Seth Rollins reacted to a fan who took a shot at Rollins for being out with a knee injury while implying that Rollins was injury-prone. Rollins did have a serious knee injury in 2015 that cost him eight months and another knee injury a few years later that cost him a couple of months but otherwise has been durable and a workhorse in his WWE career.

In the comment made by Rollins, he took a shot at the reduced schedule of his former Shield ally Reigns.

“Dawg I’ve taken less time off for injuries in the last 12 years than the other champ has taken for vacation in the last 2 years…”

As WWE fans know, Reigns works a reduced schedule despite being the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for three and a half years. Reigns only wrestled seven televised matches in 2023. If Reigns’ next match is at WrestleMania 40 then that means he would only have wrestled one match between November’s Crown Jewel and WrestleMania 40, which is a span of six months. That one match was Reigns’ win at the Royal Rumble PLE.

Meanwhile, Rollins has claimed he’ll be back in the ring well before WrestleMania 40 as well.
