Seth Rollins Weighs In On LA Knight’s Popularity

According to Seth Rollins, LA Knight has earned whatever popularity he has gained over the past several months.

LA Knight has experienced a major shift in his career trajectory over the past year. He started his main roster career in a somewhat maligned male model gimmick that received few positive reactions. However, that gimmick ended around October 2022 and after Knight survived a feud with Bray Wyatt things began turning around him.

As Knight found himself going more promos and non-wrestling segments, fans began warming up to him. So much so that fans have started comparing him to legends like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Ric Flair.

But this sentiment isn’t limited to fans and outside observers, as some of Knight’s peers, including Seth Rollins, see a bright future for him as well.

Seth Rollins thinks that LA Knight being compared to established WWE legends is a good thing

In an interview with Fox News, Seth Rollins weighed in on the comparisons being made between LA Knight and some of the best talkers of the Attitude Era. And instead of those comparisons being bad for Knight’s career, Rollins sees them as positives.

“And the LA Knight thing, he’s got a call and response thing with the audience. He’s got that feeling that he’s being held down a little bit. He’s got that chip on his shoulder.

And, in some ways, he’s just a throwback to the Attitude Era. I know he’s received a lot of comparisons to The Rock and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, some people mocking him for that.

But, I mean, those two are some of the most popular superstars in the history of our industry. I think any comparison you’re going to get to them, especially from a popularity standpoint, is a win. I think the sky’s the limit for him.”

LA Knight’s next big match will be at SummerSlam on August 5th when he takes part in a Battle Royal. As of this writing, Knight’s confirmed opponents in this match are Sheamus, Tommaso Ciampa, Shinsuke Nakamura, Otis, and Chad Gable.
