Seth Rollins Gives Finn Balor His Judgment Day At SummerSlam

Seth Rollins Finn Balor

Seth Rollins and Finn Balor battled for gold at WWE SummerSlam.

Seth Rollins has taken the mantle of Raw’s top male star after capturing the World Heavyweight Championship when it was re-introduced to the company by Triple H back in May 2023

Finn Balor has had his sights set on Rollins since then as he looked to gain revenge on him following what happened when the two stars clashed at SummerSlam 2016 over the newly introduced Universal Championship. On that occasion, Balor picked up the win but was forced to relinquish the title just 24 hours later due to an injury suffered in the match and he has not held world title gold in WWE since.

Seth Rollins had that 2016 match in mind as he came to the ring wearing the same vest from that night as he sought to get in the head of Balor.

The two stars went back and forth before Damian Priest and his Money In The Bank briefcase turned up giving Rollins more cause for concern. However, Señor Money In The Bank’s presence proved to be a nuisance to Balor as he refused Priest’s offer of the MITB briefcase to use to take out Rollins.

With Balor unable to put Rollins away with a Coup de Grace, he asked for the briefcase only for Rollins to nail Balor with a Stomp onto the case to pick up the win.

What is next for Seth Rollins in WWE?

After picking up the win over Finn Balor and retaining the World Heavyweight Championship, Seth Rollins could have another old rival coming after him in the near future.

Cody Rhodes previously noted that the winner of his match with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam should be in line for a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship and The American Nightmare managed to pick up the victory earlier on the SummerSlam card.
