Seth Rollins had an interesting reaction when fans at a WWE Live Event chanted “CM Punk” at him.

Ever since CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series in Chicago, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has been hearing “CM Punk” chants. Whether it’s on television or at WWE live events, fans want to see a Rollins-Punk match at some point.

At a WWE live event in Utica, New York on Saturday, December 9th, Seth “Freakin” Rollins successfully retained his World Heavyweight Title against Shinsuke Nakamura. After the match, Rollins did an in-ring promo where he was greeted with those CM Punk chants again. That led to this response from Rollins.

“Excuse me, who’s that? Who’s that? Serious question, was that guy on the show here tonight? Yeah, no. Hey, maybe, one of these days he’ll grow a set and he’ll come up here to Utica, New York. And look, he’s the best in the world, right?”

“In all seriousness, (raises World Heavyweight Championship) I’m the friggin’ best in the world. Because every single town, every single night, no matter the opponent, I show up and I show out!”

Where was CM Punk on Saturday night? He was at NXT Deadline in Bridgeport, Connecticut taking selfies with Shawn Michaels and giving hugs out to rising NXT stars like Cora Jade too.

Seth Rollins Believes CM Punk Won’t Have Problems In WWE

While Seth Rollins hasn’t been shy about criticizing CM Punk in the past, the World Heavyweight Champion told Jimmy Traina on the SI Media Podcast that he doesn’t think CM Punk will have problems in WWE the way Punk did in AEW. In AEW, Punk got into at least two backstage fights in two years and plenty of people didn’t want to work with him. Rollins doesn’t see it happening in WWE.

“It’s never going to get to that point. If anything goes south the way it did anywhere else, it’s not ever going to get to that point. This locker room is…we’re a bunch of professionals, for the most part, over here. We’re a bunch of professionals.”

“I don’t want to go too far into anything else, but it’s just not going to happen over here. There is going to be a line drawn in the sand, everything is going to be A-OK, I feel very good about that.”

It is heavily rumored that WWE might go with a Seth Rollins-CM Punk match at WrestleMania 40, there is plenty of time before we get to WWE’s biggest show of the year.

Seth Rollins and CM Punk are both set to be at Monday’s edition of WWE Raw in Cleveland when Punk will decide what brand he is going to sign with.
