Seth Rollins Breaks Silence On WWE Raw Return
Seth Rollins has revealed when he found out about his WWE return.
Running into WrestleMania 40, Seth Rollins was nursing a knee injury suffered back in January in a match with Jinder Mahal. Despite not being 100% fit, Rollins wrestled as planned, losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Drew McIntyre.
After the spectacular, Rollins took time off to undergo knee surgery and recuperate. Fast forward to the June 17th episode of Raw, and the star was back in a WWE ring, nose to nose with current World Champion Damian Priest. A match between the pair was then made for Money In The Bank.
On the most recent edition of the Red brand, it was announced Seth Rollins will be unable to challenge Priest for the World Championship again if he loses, while the champion will be forced to leave Judgment Day if he loses the gold.
Seth Rollins Was Waiting For The Right Moment
During an interview with Matt Aguilar for ComicBook Nation, Rollins explained how his return came together, explaining it was a matter of timing.
“A little fluctuation. I had a few weeks notice. We kind of looked at the timeline of the injury and looked at the stories and where I fell back into place. You never really know how things are going to go. The top of the card here on Raw is stacked.
You have guys like Damian Priest, Drew McIntyre, CM Punk whenever he is around and able, Gunther waiting in the wings, Rey Mysterio, Judgment Day. It’s stacked. It was interesting to see where I could slide in. The time felt right. Coming off Clash at the Castle, it was ripe for the picking. Damian Priest needed a challenger, so I hopped right in,”
Money In The Bank is set to take place on Saturday, July 6th.
