Scotty 2 Hotty Gets AEW Tryout

Scotty 2 Hotty

Former WWE Tag Team Champion Scotty 2 Hotty received a tryout from AEW at Dynamite in Albany, New York.

Scotty 2 Hotty was one of the tag team stars of the early 2000s when he broke out with Grandmaster Sexay (Brian Christopher) as Too Cool. Known for their dancing ways and their alliance with Rikishi, Too Cool captured the WWE Tag Team Championship in May 2000 when they defeated Edge and Christian.

In recent years, the real-life Scott Garland had worked in WWE as a coach at the Performance Center before leaving that role in late 2021 when he asked for his release from the company. Since leaving, Scotty 2 Hotty has resumed his in-ring career on the independent scene.

PWInsider has now reported that Scotty 2 Hotty was in Albany, New York for AEW Dynamite where he received a tryout for a coach/producer role in the company. The report notes the former WWE star is set to be around AEW for the next few weeks.

When did Scotty 2 Hotty last wrestle in WWE?

Scotty 2 Hotty’s time in WWE dates back to 1991 when he competed as an enhancement talent known as Scott Taylor. In 1998 he formed Too Much with Brian Christopher as the duo looked to make a name for themselves but it wasn’t until they rebranded as Too Cool that things really took off.

The star’s full-time run in WWE came to an end in 2007 but he returned in 2014 on Old School Raw where he teamed with Grandmaster Sexay and Rikishi once again to defeat 3MB before unsuccessfully challenging The Ascension for the NXT Tag Team Championship one month later.
