Details On Scott D’Amore’s Huge Bid For TNA Wrestling

Scott D'Amore TNA

Scott D’Amore was ousted as TNA’s President, but new details have emerged regarding his attempt to buy the company.

There was big news regarding TNA Wrestling on February 7th when the company announced that its President Scott D’Amore had been fired. D’Amore worked for TNA/Impact Wrestling in an executive role since 2017 and was part of the company in different roles for about 15 years before that too.

It was revealed that D’Amore clashed with his Anthem bosses ahead of his TNA dismissal. There were also reports that D’Amore had attempted to buy TNA from Anthem, who apparently turned that down because the company plans to continue running TNA Impact without D’Amore involved.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed some interesting information regarding D’Amore and a group of investors trying to buy TNA.

“Regarding the attempt by a group headed to Scott D’Amore to purchase the company, two sources close to the negotiations and one involved said the offer was $10 million for the company.”

“One noted for clarity that it was $10 million plus assuming all existing debts the company had as well as the trade debts, so that Anthem itself would walk away with $10 million in the bank out of the deal. The D’Amore group believed the company value was between $7 million and $12 million. Anthem turned down the offer cold without a counter offer made.”

The fact that no counter offer was made showed that Anthem didn’t have much interest in selling the company.
