Saraya Names AEW Star That Will Be “The Next Big Thing”
Saraya has a woman in mind in that she believes can be “the next big thing” in All Elite Wrestling.
It’s been an interesting time for Saraya in AEW over the last six months. At the November 2022 Full Gear pay-per-view, she competed in her first match in seven years when she beat former AEW World Champion Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. in singles action.
Over the next few months, the AEW crowds started supporting the likes of Baker and her good friend, the AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter. That led to Baker & Hayter becoming babyfaces in the company while Saraya turned at first with former AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm and they have since been joined by Ruby Soho.
Saraya is now part of a “mean girl” group called The Outcasts with Toni and Ruby. The idea behind the group is that since they are not AEW originals like Baker, Hayter and others in the company, they are outcasts that came from other places like WWE.
During an interview with Josh Martinez on Superstar Crossover, Saraya spoke about some of the other women in AEW that have caught her eye as talented wrestlers while specifically calling Skye Blue “the next big thing” in the company.
“I’m trying to see if I felt like a lot of women at AEW do get their flowers. There’s a lot of incredible wrestlers. You have Willow. I feel like Skye Blue is gonna be the next big thing, too. She’s growing and evolving, although we have to calm her down with wanting to take so many bumps where me and Ruby are just like, ‘chill sister.'”
“So I feel like a lot of the women in AEW get a chance to be showcased and they’re all awesome. I’m happy that Taya’s there now, Taya Valkyrie. Very happy she’s there. I love Jade as a character. She’s incredible as a character, and she’s constantly training every week to be better, too, which I really appreciate.”
On Friday, Tony Khan announced that Skye Blue signed a deal with the company, so she’s “All Elite” now.
