Saraya Says AEW All In Has A “WrestleMania 1” Vibe
With the vibe already building ahead of AEW All In, Saraya has likened the hype for the event as being similar to an iconic event.
WrestleMania 1 set the tone for the years that came, becoming the flagship showpiece of WWE’s existence. The All In name quickly became synonymous with AEW, and now heading to such a massive location it is no surprise that the show has been called that for the association.
In a recent interview with Uproxx, Saraya discussed how she can see the similarities between the hype for ‘The Showcase Of The Immortals’ and the event at Wembley Stadium in London, England and how she feels fortunate to be involved.
I haven’t performed in the UK in years. And then to be on one of the biggest stages you can get over there, Wembley Stadium, it’s just a very wild opportunity. It does have that WrestleMania 1 vibe where this is something really special. I feel so fortunate that I get to be a part of history.
Continuing on, Saraya has a few names in mind to face at AEW All In, both from inside the company and through the forbidden door.
I would love to face Jamie Hayter. That would be amazing, because she’s also from the UK — I’ve had the opportunity to be in a tag and triple threat, but not a singles match, and I would love that opportunity. Do we open that Forbidden Door? Mercedes Moné, I would love to face her there. That would be such a full circle moment. There’s so much opportunity there.
Mercedes Mone is an interesting choice, as she was the one who threw the kick which eventually put Saraya on the shelf for an extended period of time. The pair have long since made it clear they’ve moved on from the incident.
Mone is also the current IWGP Champion, and whilst it is believed her deal is a short-term one there is speculation that there are negotiations to extend it. This is on top of the inevitable speculation about a move to AEW, a shocking return to WWE, or a run with various independent companies.
