Samoa Joe’s AEW Dynasty Challenger Confirmed On Dynamite

Samoa Joe AEW World Champion

Samoa Joe survived two men to hold onto his AEW World Championship at Revolution and now he’ll just have one to contend with at Dynasty.

At Revolution, Samoa Joe put his gold on the line against both Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland in a big three-way match. Ultimately Joe retained his gold when he made Page tap out to the Coquina Clutch. Adam Page has been missing from AEW TV since that match with the star scheduled for a hiatus for unknown reasons.

With Strickland uninvolved in the finish he has maintained his desire to get another shot at the title and on Dynamite in Quebec City, he got his chance to earn it when he faced off with Konosuke Takeshita in a number one contender’s match.

Samoa Joe Facing Familiar Face At AEW Dynasty

Swerve Strickland picked up the hard-fought win over Takeshita to guarantee a one-on-one title shot when AEW Dynasty takes place on April 21st in St. Louis, Missouri.

After the match, Samoa Joe issued a stark warning to Strickland over what he will be signing up for when he steps in the ring with the AEW World Champion again.

There were more implications for Dynasty on Dynamite with Willow Nightingale winning a four-way match to earn herself a shot at Julia Hart’s TBS Title on the pay-per-view.
