Sammy Guevara Suspended By AEW
Sammy Guevara is set for a spell out of the ring.
At the February 14th taping for AEW Rampage, Jeff Hardy suffered a broken nose during a No Disqualification with Sammy Guevara. There were also fears that Hardy had suffered a concussion after being hit by Guevara’s knee while taking a Shooting Star Press.
With Hardy out of action, it’s been reported by Fightful Select that Guevara has been suspended.
The report noted that after Hardy was injured, concussion protocol wasn’t followed, and this resulted in Guevara hitting his finish on the veteran. Fightful were told “This shouldn’t have happened.”
There is no word on when Hardy will return, or how long Guevara’s suspension is.
Not First Time Sammy Guevara Was Suspended
This isn’t the first time Sammy Guevara has been suspended by AEW. The star was suspended in 2020 after it was revealed that he’d made inappropriate comments about Mercedes Mone back in 2016.
The Spanish God was also involved in a backstage altercation with Eddie Kingston back in 2022, although on that occasion it was The Mad King who was suspended.
