Sammy Guevara Makes Shock Comeback But Not In AEW
The long-awaited return of Sammy Guevara has finally happened but not where many people would have expected it to.
At the February 14th taping for AEW Rampage, Jeff Hardy suffered a broken nose during a No Disqualification with Sammy Guevara. However, during the match, there was also a concern that Hardy suffered a concussion, but despite this, concussion protocol wasn’t followed and the Spanish God hit the veteran with his finish.
Sammy Guevara was suspended by AEW as a result of the situation and he has not been seen since. Meanwhile, his opponent on that fateful night, Jeff Hardy left the company after his contract expired bringing his ill-fated time in AEW to an end.
While many had wondered when the former TNT Champion might return to AEW, Sammy Guevara revealed he and Tay Melo were in training for their comebacks and now for him at least, that has arrived – but not where you might think.
Sammy Guevara Returns But Not In AEW
On the 28th of July Ring of Honor tapings in Arlington, Texas, Dustin Rhodes was being attacked by The Dark Order one day after Rhodes teamed with Ross and Marshall Von Erich to capture the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship.
Surprisingly, it was Sammy Guevara who came to Rhodes’ aid as he took out The Dark Order and ran them off from the ring.

It remains to be seen if Guevara will stick with the Ring of Honor brand rather than return to AEW for the foreseeable future.
Tony Khan recently explained he feels ROH could be more valuable if it fell under his AEW branding so there could be a push to align the two or put more major names in ROH moving forward.
