Sammy Guevara Responds To Whirlwind Of ‘Exhausting’ AEW Backstage Drama
The backstage of AEW has been dealing with a ton of drama, and Sammy Guevara has been involved with a lot of it. The “Spanish God” has now addressed what’s been going on.
2022 has been quite an eventful year for the Jericho Appreciation Society member, with the fireworks beginning with his on-screen partnership with Tay Melo turning into a relationship. Eventually, the two got engaged and then ultimately got married, however, the pair have caused a lot of controversy.
Then, you have Sammy Guevara’s issues with Eddie Kingston. A match was booked between the two at AEW All Out, and to build up the hype, Guevara did a promo for a Rampage episode. Instead of hype, it would create chaos, this because of Guevara labeling Kingston as a “fat piece of sh*t.” The promo would get so much backlash that AEW even cut it out of the show before it was aired, but it didn’t stop there. The “Mad King” wasn’t happy either.
Fuming, Kingston would take the issue to Sammy Guevara backstage, believing that the “Spanish God” went too far with the storyline rivalry between the two. The altercation would end up seeing Eddie Kingston being suspended. Afterwards, the two would settle their differences and would face off in a match at AEW Rampage Grand Slam.
Now, Sammy Guevara has new heat, beefing with Andrade El Idolo. On Tuesday, Guevara and Andrade would exchange blows on social media, with Andrade making the accusation that the former TNT Champion complained during matches about hits he received being too hard.
Responding to all of the insanity on his vlog, the “Spanish God” wouldn’t say Andrade by name, but he did let his thoughts be known about the “tiring” drama being non-stop.
“There’s just so much drama that goes on in wrestling, it’s really exhausting. It’s tiring. Seems like every couple of weeks is something I’m minding my own business, on vacation, and then, you know, people want to start drama with me. It is what it is. It’s the life I signed up for, I supposed. But it’s definitely tiring and maybe I’ll need to go on another vacation next week because… [sighs] stressful. Either way, for the people that actually support me, for the people who watch these vlogs, part of the Vlog Crew, I appreciate you.”
Sammy Guevara, partnered with JAS leader Chris Jericho, is set to square off against former faction member Daniel Garcia and his tag team partner Bryan Danielson on AEW Dynamite’s anniversary special on Wednesday.
