Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens Reunite On WWE Smackdown

The boys are back together because Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens reunited with a big hug to end this week’s edition of WWE Smackdown.

Sami Zayn was all over the March 17th edition of WWE Friday Night Smackdown, which took place just 15 days before WrestleMania 39 Night One takes place on April 1st followed by Night Two on April 2nd.

It all started with Cody Rhodes opening Smackdown with a promo that brought Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to the ring to have a talk. Cody and Sami made it clear that everybody wants to see Kevin working with Sami again to try to take down The Bloodline. Sami even said they didn’t have to be friends again, but Owens was still unsure. Owens thanked Cody for the invite to the ring as KO left on his own again.

After a break, Sami Zayn went up to Owens in the parking lot as Owens was about to leave in a car. It was there where Sami said they will always be friends, but they aren’t just friends, they are brothers. Zayn said if you never want to talk again, that’s fine, but Zayn wants to let him know that he loves Owens. That’s when Owens drove off and appeared to leave. However, we found out that Sami’s words worked.

In the main event segment, Sami Zayn went into the ring with Jey Uso to talk about their issues. Jey spoke about how he always had his guard up against people because he protects his family, but with Sami he let his guard down and they became friends. Jey said he did what he had to do by attacking Sami. It led to an interesting line from Sami, who said that Jey probably wishes that he (Jey) could hit Roman Reigns with a steel chair the way that Sami did at the Royal Rumble.

Things would get physical with Jey hitting Sami with a forearm, but Sami tackled Jey to take control. That’s when Jimmy Uso jumped in to support his brother Jey. The Usos beat up Sami Zayn outside the ring by using the steel steps to knock Sami down.

That’s when the music of Kevin Owens hit. He may have left earlier in the show, but he did come back. While Sami was down in the corner, Owens destroyed both Usos with a Stunner and Popup Powerbomb leading to The Usos retreating. That’s when Owens hugged Zayn to huge applause! The fans absolutely loved it because it was several months in the making. Smackdown ended with Owens/Zayn looking at The Usos from a distance.

Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens are likely going to challenge The Usos for the WWE Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 39. It could even headline Night One although the match isn’t official yet.
