Sami Zayn Names Johnny Knoxville Match As One Of His Favorites
Sami Zayn has heaped more praise on his encounter with Johnny Knoxville, making it clear that both of them played a key role in the match.
After trading barbs both on social media and in person during the build up, Sami Zayn and Johnny Knoxville eventually faced off at WrestleMania 38. The match received plenty of accolades, as it mixed both the wrestling realm with Jackass style calamity to create something unique.
Whilst Knoxville would pick up the victory with the help of his Jackass friends, Zayn also received plenty of plaudits for taking someone who had never wrestled before through such an entertaining match.
In a discussion with WWE Deutschland, Sami Zayn confirmed that he is proud of what he did during the match, and ranks it as one of the most favorite of his career.
It’s one of my favorite matches ever. I don’t think a lot of people understand the little things you have to do to make sure it flows so well with someone who’s never done this. So I take a lot of pride in that side of it… I put it up there with some of my best matches ever, but for different reasons.
Whilst reluctant to do so, the former three-time Intercontinental Champion also had praise for what his opponent achieved.
He did great. As much as I want to insult him – and I do, I still do insult him every chance I get – but I can’t take that away from him.
Sami Zayn has recently been aligned with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Sami Zayn and The Bloodline, and recently discussed what it felt like to become an ‘honorary Uce’. However, it hasn’t all been plain sailing, as his relationship with Jey Uso within the group has always been tumultuous.
