Samantha Irvin Announces WWE Departure

Samantha Irvin WWE

Samantha Irvin is moving on from WWE after having a memorable run as a ring announcer.

There was a special connection between Samantha Irvin and the WWE Universe since she often spoke about how she was a wrestling fan growing up. Sadly, she has announced that she is moving on from WWE.

After WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry suggested she try out for the company as a wrestler, it didn’t work out and instead she was hired as a ring announcer in April 2021.

During her time in WWE, Irvin worked her way up by starting on 205 Live and eventually on the NXT brand. By January 2022, she was on SmackDown on Friday nights and she’s been the main ring announcer on Raw since February 2023.

In a lengthy message shared on social media, Samantha Irvin has announced she is no longer working for WWE. The message includes Irvin thanking many big name people in WWE like Triple H, Paul Heyman, Michael Cole, the women’s locker room and plenty of other people.

WWE Universe, my time has come to an end as your Monday Night Raw Ring Announcer. I love you all tremendously and this does not mark the end of my art, I have a lifetime more to share.

Thank you to every WWE fan who accepted me. To the Women’s Locker Room: you are the most incredible group of people on the face of this Earth. I am beyond proud to be your colleague and friend.

To the Crew & Cameramen: I can’t thank you enough for the encouragement, the laughs. You created such a wonderful, positive atmosphere for me. Love you all.

To the WWE Superstars, past and present: 1 have thanked you since 1989 and will continue to thank you for the rest of my days for entertaining us. For raising the bar over and over again. For risking your bodies and finding new ways to keep us shocked and wanting more. There is no form of entertainment like this and not just any entertainer can be a WWE Superstar. The respect I have for you is more than I can express. Thank you for making it so easy to pour emotion and excitement into your introductions. You are the stars that the stars idolize. It doesn’t get any bigger and I’m proud to have used my voice to let the world know it.

Thank you Paul Heyman, Michael PS Hayes, & Michael Cole. I will continue to apply what I learned from you to every aspect of my career. Thank you for invigorating my creativity.

Thank you Brian “Road Dogg” James, Scott Armstrong, Gabe Sapolsky, and George Carroll Jr. for giving me my first opportunities to rise to the occasion.

Thank you to HHH for trusting me and showcasing me on this platform.

Thank you Mark Henry for giving me my big break. I hope I made you proud.

Thank you to all the Coaches, Producers, Medical, Writers, Talent Relations, Makeup, Photography, Social Media, Digital, Travel Department, Catering, Merch, 2k Team, Referees, Security and Announce Team for everything you did to help me along the way.

To my fans, my entire career l’ve been waiting for you! We are meant to be and I can prove it. Stay tuned.

All my love! And still…
Samantha

In addition to working for WWE as a ring announcer, Irvin has a background in singing as well and has appeared on multiple television shows like “America’s Got Talent” and “I Can See Your Voice” among others.

Samantha Irvin Met Ricochet While In WWE

During her time in WWE, she met former superstar Ricochet. The couple got engaged in 2023 and it was even mentioned in storylines when Ricochet was feuding with Logan Paul in the summer of 2023.

On October 11th, Samantha Irvin wished a happy birthday to her husband Ricochet, so it appears that the couple got married at some point as well or she just felt like calling him that.

Since Ricochet recently joined AEW, it has led to speculation that Samantha Irvin may be going there as well. Samantha’s real name is Samantha Johnson.

We will update this post if more details emerge about why Samantha Irvin is no longer a part of WWE.

It has been reported by Wrestlevotes that people within WWE are genuinely surprised by Samantha’s announcement.

Here’s a clip of Samantha Irvin announcing Cody Rhodes as the new WWE Champion at WrestleMania 40 from this past April.
