Ronda Rousey Gives Major Life Update: “It Feels Like Being Handicapped”

Ronda Rousey backstage

Ronda Rousey is a name that refuses to be forgotten in combat sports.

Rousey was UFC’s first Women’s Bantamweight Champion. She successfully defended the title ten times before losing to Holly Holm at UFC 193.

She was never the same again.

After keeping herself away from the octagon for over a year, she attempted to regain her lost glory by challenging Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.

However, that bout did not end well for the former champion, as she lost in 48 seconds.

After retiring from MMA, Ronda Rousey made a transition to professional wrestling, debuting in WWE, where she held both the RAW and SmackDown Championships.

In 2023, it was reported that she was leaving the promotion. Her last match was against Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam 2023, which they competed under MMA rules.

She subsequently went off on wrestling fans in a video and later criticized then-WWE boss, Vince McMahon, labeling him a ‘pervert.’

In a September 2025 interview, she confirmed retirement from professional wrestling.

Ronda Rousey Content With Life Outside Combat Sports

Ronda Rousey recently spoke to TMZ Sports and addressed the speculations surrounding her return to combat sports.

When asked if she was planning an MMA return, the 38-year-old refuted any such report and said that she was focused on life outside of it and motherhood.

Actually, I’m running late to the gym. I have to go right now, but I just had a baby. You know what I mean? I’m just trying to get my body identity back, and I’m just enjoying being in the gym again, and just feel a lot better and a lot healthier.

You know, have you ever had kids? It feels like being handicapped, being pregnant. It just feels really good to, like, get that freedom of movement back, you know, and just getting back to training for the love of it. And I feel like that’s something I got lost before. So I’m just really enjoying myself. [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]

Ronda Rousey gave birth to her second daughter in July 2024.
