WWE Hall Of Famer Thinks Roman Reigns’ Title Run May Continue Past WrestleMania 40
A Hall of Famer believes that Roman Reigns might be WWE’s top champion for longer than most people think.
Roman Reigns has been the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for over 1200 days since August 30, 2020. That’s actually when the Universal Title reign began, but WWE combined that title with the WWE Title, so they are recognized as one championship.
As WWE heads into WrestleMania season, many people believe that WrestleMania 40 might be when Roman’s title reign ends. Whether it’s Cody Rhodes or perhaps The Rock, it certainly seems like the right time for The Tribal Chief to lose.
While some people might want a title change, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash said that he thinks Reigns might hold the title past WrestleMania 40 and until he passes the WWE Title reign of Hulk Hogan.
“The bottom line is, I mean there’s four spots. I don’t see them taking the belt off Seth and I don’t see them taking the belt off of Roman.”
“Don’t you think they want Roman to pass the Hogan streak? I mean, there’s no upside in having Dwayne go over. I think Dwayne would do the job much like Hogan did for Dwayne in Toronto.”
What Nash was referencing there was the famous WrestleMania 18 match that saw The Rock beat Hulk Hogan.
How Long Until Roman Reigns’ Title Reign Passes Hulk Hogan?
If Roman Reigns were to keep the Undisputed WWE Universal Title until September then he would pass Hulk Hogan’s title reign length. Hogan’s title reign length was wrong, but it is not a record, yet it is still a long title reign that would be hard to beat.
The record for the longest WWE Title reign in company history is Bruno Sammartino’s 2803-day reign that started in 1963 and lasted nearly eight years.
As for what’s next for Reigns, he will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against LA Knight, AJ Styles and Randy Orton in a fatal four-way match. When Reigns found out about the match, he told his “Wise Man” Special Counsel Paul Heyman to “fix this.”
