Roman Reigns Gets Unwanted Tag Team Partner For WWE Bad Blood

Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is returning to the ring in WWE and he’ll have the most surprising tag team partner by his side when he does.

Roman Reigns ruled WWE with an iron fist for well over three years as the most dominant champion in the modern era but the end of his time as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion came at WrestleMania 40 when he finally lost to Cody Rhodes.

That defeat came one year after Reigns survived The American Nightmare thanks to help from his Bloodline but the wrestling business takes some very unlikely twists and turns.

Since Reigns lost to Rhodes, his absence allowed Solo Sikoa to take hold of The Bloodline and rebuild it in his own image, brutally kicking out Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman and replacing them with Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu.

Roman Reigns returned to WWE at SummerSlam and helped Cody Rhodes retain his title as he took out Solo Sikoa as a result of his treachery and Reigns will get his hands on the man who calls himself Tribal Chief in the ring.

Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes Unite On WWE SmackDown

On the first episode of SmackDown back on the USA Network, Cody Rhodes retained his WWE Title in a steel cage match against Solo Sikoa. The Bloodline attacked Rhodes after the bout leading to Roman Reigns making the save again.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis wanted to sign a tag team match for Bad Blood pitting Rhodes and Reigns against Sikoa and Fatu but the WWE Champion rightfully wanted no part of it given his own battles with the OTC.

Later in the night, Roman Reigns came to the ring with a message for The Bloodline and noted that he didn’t need Cody Rhodes’ help as he reaffirmed that the company was “his” WWE. Rhodes soon joined him and pointed out that it has not been “his” company since WrestleMania as tensions between the pair continued to rise.

They were soon confronted by Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa but their appearance was a set up as the WWE Tag Team Champions Tonga Loa and Tama Tonga jumped Reigns and Rhodes from behind. After Reigns and Rhodes got the better of them, they both signed the contract for Bad Blood as WWE’s modern-day Mega Powers will clash with The Bloodline on October 5th.
