Roman Reigns broke the hearts of almost everyone at WrestleMania 39 when he stopped Cody Rhodes from finishing his story and now he’s set to put the WWE Universal Title on the line once again.
Since August 2020, Roman Reigns has had an iron grip on the Universal Championship defeating everyone that’s been put in front of him on his way to over 1,000 days as champion.
Reigns was not on the card at Backlash and at Night of Champions he teamed with Solo Sikoa to challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championship but now his next title defense has been revealed and it will take place on a live event.
Roman Reigns will return to SmackDown on the 16th of July where he is sure to look for answers from Jey Uso regarding where his loyalty lies as The Bloodline appears on the brink of collapse. However, one night later at the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, Ohio Reigns will put his title on the line against WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio.
This will mark Reigns’ first title defense since receiving an all-new WWE Universal Championship belt. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins is also touted to be defending his title at the event with promotional material promising five titles will be on the line.
