Roman Reigns wasn’t happy about something Kevin Owens did during the WarGames match, but a new report suggests there is no lingering issue.

Earlier on Monday, there was a report we wrote about that was credited to Fightful Select that Roman Reigns was heated after the Survivor Series Men’s WarGames match that saw The Bloodline defeat The Brawling Brutes team.

During the conclusion of the WarGames match, Sami Zayn proved his loyalty to The Bloodline by stopping the referee’s count while Owens had Reigns pinned after a Stunner. Zayn followed that up by hitting Owens with a low blow and Helluva Kick. That led to Jey Uso hitting a top rope Uso Splash on Owens for the pinfall win.

After the match, Zayn was hugged by Reigns and Jey, who was reluctant to accept Zayn in the group in the past. This was a big moment that led to a huge reaction from the Boston crowd because of the tension between Zayn and Jey in the past.

The Fightful Select report noted that Reigns was mad about Kevin Owens striking him too hard during a spot in the match, which led to Reigns swearing about it backstage. There was a spot in the match where Reigns and Owens were exchanging strikes with Owens hitting Reigns a bit too hard with a strike to the side of the head, which led to Reigns possibly suffering an eardrum injury.

In an update on the story, the following was posted by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer in the daily update as part of their free site. It was noted by Meltzer that it had all blown over after Reigns was initially mad about it.

“Regarding the report on what happened backstage with Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens. The story is accurate in the sense Reigns got upset after being popped, and had noticeable bruising under his left eye. There was talk of a possible broken eardrum but that was not confirmed to us. What is confirmed is that it came from a slap by Owens, Reigns was upset, but 20 minutes later it had all blown over so there is no lingering issue regarding it.”

On the November 28th edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, The Bloodline’s Jimmy & Jey Uso, Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa were on the show without Reigns. Jey faced Owens in the main with KO picking up the win.

As long as there are no issues with Reigns and Owens moving forward, a recent report has also noted that WWE plans to have Reigns defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Owens at the Royal Rumble in two months. As WWE fans know, plans can and sometimes do change.
