Roman Reigns Facing Social Media Backlash

Roman Reigns

A recent line from Roman Reigns caught the attention of fans on social media.

On the March 8th episode of SmackDown, Roman Reigns and The Rock came face to face with Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes in an electric main event segment.

Reigns and The Rock took centre stage first before being joined by Rollins and Rhodes who arrived through the crowd. During the fired-up exchange, the quartet exchanged insults with Rock and Reigns leaning as hard as possible into their heel personas. However, for some fans, one line from Reigns in particular crossed the line.

While taking aim at Rollins’ dress sense, Reigns referred to his former friend as a “cross-dresser.” A number of fans on social media said the line was “unnecessary” especially as WWE likes to pride itself on being an inclusive company. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp commented that it’s reasonable for fans to call on Reigns to do better in the future.

There were also those who shared their support of Reigns, commenting he was simply being a heel.

Roman Reigns Pulling Double Duty At WrestleMania 40

The SmackDown segment saw Rollins and Rhodes accept a huge challenge from The Bloodline. The pair will now team together on night one of WrestleMania, and should they win, the faction will be banned from ringside when Rhodes challenges Reigns on night two.

But if Rock and Reigns win, the Undisputed WWE Universal Title match will be contested under “Bloodline Rules.”

The show went off the air with Cody Rhodes slapping The Rock after the Hollywood megastar said the American Nightmare was a mistake.
