Roman Reigns Seemingly Set For Extended WWE Hiatus
A new report seems to shed some light on what might be in store for Roman Reigns in the near future, claiming that he will be taking a period away from WWE this year.
There has been plenty of speculation surrounding The Tribal Chief of late, especially after a comment the WWE Universal Champion made at a house show indicating he may not be a full-time competitor for much longer.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio has now commented that Roman Reigns is looking set to take the summer off from WWE, with the last date in his diary for now on 19th June.
[Roman Reigns] was removed from all shows – his last show is June 19th until after Labor Day so I don’t know what the situation is other than he is scheduled for the two pay-per-view shows but [he’s missing] all TVs, all house shows.
I don’t know if this means he’s doing a movie, I don’t know what it is. Obviously, we already know his schedule going forward, probably after late June is gonna be cut way back anyway but there’s gonna be a period where he’s like not even on television because he’s removed from all the advertising.
Although Roman Reigns is still currently advertised to be appearing at both Money In The Bank and SummerSlam, Meltzer noted that this could change as the plan for The Head Of The Table’s hiatus becomes clearer.
He’s still advertised [for Money In The Bank], I don’t know what that means. He’s still advertised for the two shows. […] If he’s doing a movie and he’s able to get out on a one day thing because those pay-per-views are the big stadium shows, it’s possible. But I don’t know the whole story behind it, I just know he was removed from all advertising for all the house shows and all the TVs after June 19th and he’s not back until after Labor Day.
We already talked about he’ll be doing far less house shows going forward because of his new agreement with the company.
If this report is proven true, then it is likely Roman Reigns would also not be a part of Clash At The Castle in Cardiff, Wales on 3rd September, given that Labor Day in the United States falls two days after that event.
