Roman Reigns Disowns Former WWE Persona

Roman Reigns Face WWE

Roman Reigns doesn’t recognise the man he used to be.

Following the break-up of The Shield, Roman Reigns embarked on a run that saw him win almost every major prize WWE had to offer. This included multiple runs with World Championship gold and a controversial Royal Rumble victory in 2015.

During this period, Reigns became known as the “Big Dog” and was positioned as an all-conquering babyface, despite increasing pushback from fans. That rejection by the audience didn’t disappear until Reigns turned heel in 2020 and dominated WWE as the Tribal Chief.

While fans don’t look back on the “Big Dog era” too fondly, it seems, neither does Reigns.

During a new feature with IGN to celebrate the launch of WWE 2K25, Reigns bluntly declared that the Big Dog is dead.

“There is no Big Dog. He’s dead now. I don’t even see the other guy. He doesn’t even exist. It doesn’t- didn’t happen.”

Roman Reigns is set to feature on the cover of WWE 2K25, while he will be joined on the cover for a special Bloodline Edition by The Usos and Paul Heyman. As part of The Bloodline’s Dynasty, players will recreate iconic moments featuring The Rock, Yokozuna, Reigns, and more.

WWE 2K25 will be officially released on March 14.

WWE Announces New Roman Reigns Dates

On February 27, it was announced that Roman Reigns would be part of WWE’s upcoming European tour. The former World Champion will be part of SmackDown in Bologna, Italy, on March 21, and SmackDown in London, England, a week later.

Reigns has been absent since being taken out by Seth Rollins following his elimination from the men’s Royal Rumble match on February 1.

It’s been widely reported that Roman Reigns is set to face Seth Rollins and CM Punk at WrestleMania 41. It should be noted that there’s been no official announcement regarding the match. Both Rollins and Punk are set to take part in the Elimination Chamber match, and at least in theory, the winner will face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania for the Undisputed WWE Title.
