ROH World Title Match Announced For Debut Episode Of New Show
The ROH World Title will be on the line during the first episode of Ring of Honor’s new streaming show.
Claudio Castagnoli regained the ROH World Title at Final Battle 2022 when he defeated Chris Jericho with the deadly Swing, which led to Jericho tapping out while he was getting spun around the ring. Claudio became a two-time ROH World Champion at that point.
Tony Khan, who is the AEW Owner/President/General Manager and booker, bought ROH about one year ago. Since then, there were a lot of rumors about where ROH’s weekly TV or streaming show would end up.
During Final Battle weekend last December, Tony Khan announced ROH would air on the Honor Club streaming service for $9.99 per month.
The new era of ROH will see the company tape several weeks of content starting tonight (Saturday, February 25th) at Univeral Studios in Orlando. The following information about the tapings is from PWInsider:
ROH will tape tonight at Soundstage 19 from 6-9 PM.
ROH will also tape tomorrow, Sunday 2/26 at Soundstage 19 from 7-10 PM.
AEW will tape matches for future episodes of Dark at Soundstage 19 on Sunday 2/26 at 1 PM – 4 PM.
In addition to that, Tony Khan announced the first ROH World Title match airing on the new ROH streaming show with Claudio Castagnoli defending the title against veteran AR Fox, who AEW signed full-time a few months ago.
The next ROH pay-per-view event is Supercard of Honor, which will take place on March 31st in Los Angeles during WrestleMania 39 weekend.
