Ricochet Struggling To Remember Much Of WWE Raw Match

Ricochet

Ricochet appeared to suffer a nasty injury on WWE Raw that has left him unable to remember much of the match he was involved in.

The Miz, Ivar, Ricochet, and Bronson Reed clashed on Raw in Wilkes-Barre, PA in a huge fatal four-way match with the winner earning a shot at ending the record-setting Intercontinental Championship reign of Gunther.

By the time the match was over, eight-time Intercontinental Champion The Miz was declared the winner and Gunther’s next challenger but the referee was doing his best to cut short the celebrations.

The Miz’s victory came when he countered a Tsunami attempt from Reed into a roll-up while Ivar also hit a moonsault on Ricochet. The referee placed themselves between all four men to count simultaneous pins but Ricochet kicked out while Reed didn’t leaving the referee no choice but to call the match for Miz. After the match, Ivar took out The Miz and hit a moonsault on GUNTHER’s new number one contender.

Ricochet Entered Concussion Protocol After WWE Raw Bout

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Richochet’s issue in the bout which led to him kicking out when he wasn’t meant to after suffering a bad bump and said the star doesn’t remember much of the match:

[Ricochet’s in] concussion protocol. I don’t want to say concussion because it was not – as far as I know – it was not diagnosed as a concussion, but he’s fine. He doesn’t remember a lot of match.

Bryan Alvarez then noted that The Miz had to tell the referee to count his pinfall as Ricochet’s kick-out confused things:

The only thing that I saw Miz doing was when they were doing the finish. He was screaming at the ref to count. Because, you know, the ref was supposed to count both of them down and Ricochet was supposed to get pinned. You can see when the ref gets to two Ricochet kicks out, and the ref holds up because he doesn’t know why the guy kicked out and so Miz starts screaming the ref to just count the f*cking pin.

So he counts the pin and Miz wins. Yeah. And yeah, so it was supposed to be Miz and Ivar actually winning.

Dave Meltzer concluded that Adam Pearce was then going to immediately make the match between The Miz and Ivar with the winner going on to face Gunther, that match will take place on the Raw in Washington D.C. although the number one contender stipulation has not been announced for it:

Adam Pearce was gonna go in and make the announcement that because of what happened, we’re going to have a match next week between Miz and Ivar and the winner of that would face Gunther. So that’s how it was originally booked.
