WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Steamboat’s return to the ring for his last ever match in November 2022 was filmed by the US network, A&E.
In a historic year for wrestling with the return to the ring of Stone Cold Steve Austin and the final ever match of Ric Flair, WWE Hall of Famer Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat was not to be outshone as he took part in his last ever bout on a Big Time Wrestling show in Raleigh, North Carolina on the 27th of November.
Prior to that match, the 69-year-old star had not stepped inside a wrestling ring in anger since 2010 when he teamed with his son Richie Steamboat to defeat Caylen Croft and AEW star Trent in WWE developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling.
Steamboat teamed with IWGP, ROH, and AAA Tag Team Champions FTR in a bout with an AEW flavour as they took on Jay Lethal, Brock Anderson, and former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis in a six-man tag team match.
The victory came for Ricky Steamboat and his team when The Dragon, Dax Harwood, and Cash Wheeler had all three of their opponents tapped in figure-four leg locks causing all three men to submit.
Fightful Select has reported that an A&E film crew was “in place” for Steamboat’s match at the event, although it remains unclear what the footage is to be used for but Steamboat will be featured in the upcoming A&E Biography series produced in conjunction with WWE.
