A new report has shed some light on why Ricky Starks has been absent from AEW television as well as insight into his upcoming return.

Ricky Starks is one of the most talented younger wrestlers on the AEW roster, so when he’s absent from television there are questions as to why. Sometimes wrestlers are dealing with injuries that are never disclosed while other times it can be a personal reason.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (available via subscription), it was reported by Dave Meltzer that Starks hasn’t been in the ring due to something unrelated to wrestling and he’ll be back on the show for a promo.

Starks is advertised for the November 4th edition of Rampage with AEW tweeting that we’ll hear from him on the show.

It’s possible that Starks will be starting a new rivalry in AEW because he got a big win in a Lights Out Match against his rival Powerhouse Hobbs on the AEW Grand Slam edition of Rampage on September 23rd. That match was a rematch from AEW All Out on September 4th when Hobbs beat Starks in dominant fashion.

Earlier in 2022, Starks was the FTW Champion that was a part of Team Taz. However, the group fell apart, Starks lost his title and Team Taz ended while Starks became a babyface singles wrestler after starting his AEW career as a heel.
