Ric Flair Says Major WWE Match Has To Main Event WrestleMania

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has commented on one major match that he thinks has to main event one night of WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles.

At the 2023 Royal Rumble, two stars emerged victorious from the Rumble matches themselves with Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley picking up the biggest wins of their respective careers, and earning title shots at WrestleMania 39.

WWE has since confirmed that Rhodes will indeed challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in LA, while Rhea Ripley had to choose whether to challenge for the Raw or SmackDown Women’s Title.

On the Raw after the Rumble, Ripley made that decision, revealing that she was set to challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Title in a rematch from WrestleMania 36.

Speaking on his To Be The Man podcast, Ric Flair discussed his daughter’s new challenge and thinks Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley has to main event one of the two nights of WrestleMania 39:

“It’s gotta be one of the main events. It’s gonna be spectacular. Rhea has matured so much. That match they had in front of no people a couple years ago was fantastic. I can only imagine, I mean The Queen is in a place where… she just plain and simply is the best worker in the business, in the company. I’m sure that she and Rhea will tear the joint down. If I were the guys, I wouldn’t want to follow them, and I would be hope that they’d be on last.”

The Nature Boy added that while he’s a fan of Ripley’s work with The Judgment Day faction, he’s not sure she’ll remain part of it after WrestleMania:

“As much as I enjoy that group she’s with, which worked out really nice, I’m really happy that she’s going out on her own now again. I like that. Win, lose, or draw, I don’t know whether she’ll stay with that group or not, but she is such a great singles attraction. She and ‘The Queen’ will just tear it down. I’m so excited for both of them.”
