Ric Flair Open To In-Ring Return

Ric Flair AEW

Ric Flair can’t walk away.

In an event run under the famous Jim Crockett Promotions banner on July 31st, 2022, Ric Flair wrestled what he said would be his last match. During the bout where he tagged with Andrade El Idolo against Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett, Flair struggled badly, and later admitted he passed out twice.

However, Ric Flair has since given mixed messages on his wrestling future, seemingly teasing a comeback before distancing himself from the suggestion.

This speculation only increased when he began working with AEW in late 2023 before appearing at Revolution in March 2024 as part of Sting’s retirement match. At the time, there were claims Flair wanted to do more physicality, but his pitches were blocked by management.

During an appearance on the Five Star Podcast, Flair confirmed Tony Khan had kept him out of the ring while working in AEW due to fears about his health.

“Once Tony (Khan) found out I was on blood thinners, he wouldn’t let me get in the ring,”

When it was suggested that Flair had one more match in him, the WWE Hall of Famer enthusiastically agreed.

“Hell yeah, I do.”

Ric Flair Tips AEW Star To Make WWE Return

During a different interview, Ric Flair predicted that Mercedes Mone would return to WWE before her career ended. The veteran made the claim while discussing Charlotte Flair’s biggest rivals, adding that his daughter and Mone had better chemistry than anyone in history.

Charlotte Flair has been out of action since December 2023 when she suffered a major knee injury, however, she’s expected back very soon.

Ahead of making her AEW debut, Mercedes Mone admitted she will return to WWE one day. She followed that up with another admission in August, confirming she wanted to rejoin the company in 2023.
