Ric Flair Potentially Facing Hulk Hogan In Final Match
According to Brian Blair, Ric Flair could be about to reignite his rivalry with Hulk hogan one more time for his final wrestling match this July.
On May 16th, Ric Flair confirmed that he will be stepping back in the ring for one last match. The Nature Boy last wrestled over a decade ago when he clashed with Sting back in September 2011 during his time in TNA – now IMPACT Wrestling.
The announcement immediately got the wrestling world talking with many fans being excited about the idea but others offering criticism, and even concern as Flair is 73-years-old and has suffered a number of serious health issues in recent years.
It was originally thought that the bout – which will take place at Starrcast – would see Ric Flair and FTR take on the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and Ricky Steamboat. However, Steamboat has since said that he turned down the invitation to come out of retirement.
Now, during an appearance on Wrestling Shoot Interviews former WWE star and one-half of the Killer Bees tag team, Brian Blair, has suggested Hulk Hogan could be Flair’s opponent.
“I’m looking forward to seeing Flair and Hogan at SummerSlam.”
Flair’s final match is set to happen at Starrcast on July 31st in Nashville, Tennessee. This is the day after WWE SummerSlam which takes place at the Nissan Stadium in the same city.
Blair went on to say that, despite both men’s health concerns, he wishes them the best for the potential match.
“Well, I think if Ric were gonna die anywhere, he’d wanna die in the ring. Terry’s had his fair share of surgeries, way too many and I’m getting ready to call Terry in a couple of minutes. I just wish them the very best. I know the fans are the ones that have been really egging it on that really want to see it. So it’s sparked them. All I can say it will be interesting and I just pray that they both come out in one piece.”
It should be noted that neither Starrcast nor Ric Flair has confirmed that the WWE Hall of Famer will be taking on Hulk Hogan in his final match, and Flair’s opponent at the event is still to be announced.
