Ric Flair Thinks AEW Needs “Somebody Fresh” To Book It

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has explained why he thinks Tony Khan needs to let somebody else takes the reins of the creative direction of AEW.

Tony Khan has been a hands-on owner since he launched AEW in early 2019, overseeing the entire creative direction of the company. However, Khan also has high-profile roles with both the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL and the English Premier League soccer team, Fulham.

Speaking on his To Be The Man podcast – courtesy of AdFreeShows – Ric Flair has explained why given his split loyalties, it’s time for Khan to let someone else book AEW:

“I would continue to own the company, but I would let somebody fresh book it. He books and runs it, but he’s also very vested personally in football which he takes a lot of pride in, and the Jaguars are getting better, which I’m really happy for them. They will probably be in the playoffs next year. So what I’m saying is Tony has to divide his time and his passion between two things.”

While the creative direction of AEW is one thing, there is at least one person that believes that Vince McMahon is back in creative in WWE, despite the company’s earlier assertions that Triple H remains in charge of that.
