Rhea Ripley Reveals Secret To Her WWE Success – “I Stopped Caring”
Rhea Ripley has revealed the mindset that led to her having a lot of success as a WWE superstar.
It’s been an incredible start to 2023 for Rhea Ripley of The Judgment Day. While she spent plenty of time in the second half of 2022 standing at ringside supporting her Judgment Day allies Finn Balor, Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio, this year has been Ripley’s time to shine.
At the Royal Rumble in January, Ripley went the distance from the start of the match to finish as the winner that earned a championship match at WrestleMania.
Rhea Ripley followed up the Royal Rumble performance with one of the best women’s matches in WWE history when she beat Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39. The match was praised heavily as Ripley beat Flair at WrestleMania three years after Flair beat Ripley in 2020.
Since WrestleMania, Ripley has had dominant championship defenses over Zelina Vega and Natalya while making it clear that she’s ready for all challengers.
In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Rhea Ripley commented on how she stopped caring and that helped her feel confident.
“I’m a very genuine person. When I first started in WWE, I was very timid and scared that I was going to do something wrong. I wanted to please everyone. That’s why you saw the Rhea Ripley you did. I didn’t think people would gravitate toward me.”
“I thought they wanted something else from me. But it’s amazing. I stopped caring. I know myself better than anyone else. I found the confidence within myself to be myself. That’s the Rhea Ripley you see today.”
Recently, Ripley’s teammate in The Judgment Day, Damian Priest, called her the greatest WWE women’s wrestler of all time.
