Rhea Ripley On What It’s Like Inspiring Others
Rhea Ripley may play a bad girl as “Mami” on WWE TV, but the powerful Australian loves inspiring others.
It has been a breakout year for Rhea Ripley in WWE. The lone female in The Judgment Day group has become the voice of reason in the group while also winning the Royal Rumble and the Smackdown Women’s Tiitle (since renamed the Women’s World Title) at WrestleMania 39.
Earlier this week, Ripley was named the #1 woman on Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s list of the top 250 women’s wrestlers in the world. While we can all debate who is ranked where, few people are going to argue with Ripley taking the top spot.
In September, it was announced that the WWE Elimination Chamber PLE in February 2024 will be headed to Perth, Australia. That means superstars like Ripley will get to perform at a PLE in their home country in front of a huge crowd.
While talking to Sporting News Australia about Elimination Chamber, Ripley spoke about how big it will be for Australia.
“I know that all the other Aussies are so pumped, and I hope they all get to come back and be on the show as well because this is something that we worked towards.”
“We all worked towards getting to WWE, but then we all want to be a part of WWE and perform where we first started. That’s the specialness that comes with it.”
Ripley went on to speak about inspiring other wrestlers.
“I think it’s going to be an absolutely ballistic, wild night, and I can’t wait to hear the crowd and just feel that electricity while I’m out there.”
“I’ve had a few people reach out to me online and obviously in person too when I am in Australia and it makes me feel proud, it really does.”
“It makes me feel very happy that I get to help inspire people like others inspired me.”
Rhea Ripley will have four opponents at WWE Crown Jewel
Up next for Rhea Ripley is a championship match at WWE Crown Jewel on November 4th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. While most champions prefer to face just one opponent in a match, Ripley will have four opponents at Crown Jewel.
Competing in the five-way match with Ripley are Nia Jax, Raquel Rodriguez, Zoey Stark & Shayna Baszler. Whoever gets the first fall in that match will leave as the WWE Women’s World Champion.
