Rhea Ripley Excited By Special WWE Announcement
Rhea Ripley can’t wait for WWE Crown Jewel.
On May 2, it was announced that WWE will return to Australia for shows on October 10, 11, and 13 in Perth. This will see SmackDown, Raw, and Crown Jewel: Perth all take place at the RAC Arena.
SmackDown will be up first on October 10, followed by Crown Jewel 24 hours later, and then Raw on October 13 before the company heads back to the United States.
This will mark the first time Crown Jewel has ever been held outside of Saudi Arabia since it was created in 2018. WWE was last in Australia in February 2024 when the company packed more than 50,000 fans into Optus Stadium for Elimination Chamber.
Rhea Ripley Looking Forward To Expanded Australia Return
During an appearance on Australia’s Today show, Rhea Ripley and Grayson Waller discussed WWE’s upcoming return to the land down under.
Ripley said that while Elimination Chamber was an incredible experience, adding Raw and SmackDown to the tour makes things that bit more special.
“It’s extremely special. We always love coming back home, especially with something as prestigious as WWE. Last time, as we can see, Elimination Chamber, it was the first time that I got to wrestle on Australian soil in seven years, and it was with WWE for the first time.
So I’m glad that we can now not only bring another PLE with Crown Jewel Perth, but we can also bring Raw and SmackDown, and all the other superstars can experience Australia, and it gets more eyes on Australia and WWE in general. So it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Rhea Ripley was most recently in action on the April 28 edition of Raw, where she clashed with Roxanne Perez. The Aussie star is looking to get back into the World Title picture after tasting defeat at WrestleMania 41 in a Triple Threat Match featuring champion Iyo Sky and Bianca Belair.
