Rhea Ripley Announces Engagement To Buddy Matthews
Rhea Ripley and Buddy Matthews are both champions in pro wrestling that have also announced they are engaged to be married.
On Tuesday, WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley was helping Dominik Mysterio keep his NXT North American on NXT TV, and on Wednesday, she was getting engaged to AEW’s Trios Tag Team Champion, Buddy Matthews.
Fans of WWE will know Buddy Matthews as Buddy Murphy. The two Australians started dating in 2020 and their engagement was announced by Ripley on Wednesday in a post on Instagram.

In the photo that Ripley posted, you can see the ring that Buddy gave her when he proposed marriage to her and she obviously said yes.
What About Rhea Ripley & “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio?
The on-screen pairing of WWE’s Rhea Ripley & Dominik Mysterio has gotten a lot of attention over the last year. It was in September 2022 when Dominik turned on his father Rey to join Ripley and The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor & Damian Priest.
Rhea and Dominik are treated as a couple in WWE even though they’ve never actually kissed on camera or anything that suggestive. The announcers will call them boyfriend/girlfriend and Dominik calls her “Mami” as a nickname, but other than that they aren’t forcing it too much.
As for Dominik, he has been engaged since January of this year to a girl he has been dating for several years. She is not in the wrestling business.
What’s interesting about the whole situation is that when Buddy was in WWE, he was part of a storyline where he was dating Dominik’s sister Aalyah (Rey Mysterio’s daughter) and now here we are with Dominik as the on-screen storyline boyfriend of Buddy’s actual girlfriend, who is now his fiancee, Rhea Ripley.
