Rey Mysterio Accused Of “Almost Taking Things Too Far” At WrestleMania 39

Rey Mysterio WrestleMania 39 lowrider entrance

Rey Mysterio brought the SoFi Stadium to its feet at WrestleMania 39 as he paid a special tribute to Eddie Guerrero but some feel the star might have been bordering on going too far.

Mysterio emerged into the stadium in a lowrider driven by Snoop Dogg while Guerrero’s music punctuated by the opening “Viva la Raza” filled the air.

Speaking to WrestleBinge Chavo Guerrero noted that he thinks the Eddie Guerrero tribute at WrestleMania 39 almost went too far and says it was his music that Rey Mysterio entered the stadium to, not just Eddie’s:

“I was okay with it, but I’m like, ‘Okay, guys, really?’ Now it’s almost taking it too far. That was mine and Eddie’s music and entrance. Literally, he’s coming out with what we used to do with the low riders and all that kinda stuff. Instead, he’s got Snoop driving and he’s got mine and Eddie’s music. He didn’t have Eddie’s music. He had Los Guerreros’ music.

“It was probably writing crew a lot, but Rey’s got say in it. If Rey said, ‘Hey, no, I don’t want to do that. That’s too close to Eddie,’ they would have [said], ‘Okay, let’s not do that.’ They would have listened to him, for sure.”

Chavo Guerrero previously seemed to accuse Rey Mysterio of “prostituting” Eddie Guerrero’s name and legacy before indicating that he was only showing how a “heel” should Tweet.
