Rey Mysterio Surprisingly Shows Support For Huge WWE Heel

Rey Mysterio may not see eye to eye with a top WWE heel, but his recent action showed that there was still respect.

The 2022 Clash at the Castle event in Wales saw Rey get betrayed by his son, Dominik Mysterio, who first attacked Edge before turning on his father.

On the following Raw episode, Dominik made his first appearance as a member of The Judgment Day, alongside Rhea Ripley, Damien Priest, and Finn Balor.

Despite his numerous attempts to “snap Dominik out of it,” Rey Mysterio often found himself getting battered and bruised at the hands of the heel faction, including his son.

The rivalry also earned Rey the tag of a ‘deadbeat dad.’ Since then, they have feuded sporadically, their most recent match taking place at AAA Guerra de Titanes on December 20 as part of a tag team.

Unfortunately, during the match, Dominik sustained a shoulder injury while being involved in a spot with his father. The 28-year-old is expected to be out for a few weeks, but could return before the 2026 Royal Rumble.

Rey Mysterio Shows Love For Son, Dominik

Since finding each other standing on opposite sides, Rey Mysterio and Dominik have resorted to maintaining kayfabe, meaning they are never seen together in public, enabling them to depict their rivalry as genuine.

Being a father, Rey obviously has a lot of love for his son and respects everything that he has achieved inside the squared circle.

Dominik Mysterio is currently the WWE Intercontinental Champion and the AAA Mega Champion.

During a recent public event, a maskless Rey was pictured wearing a t-shirt that featured his son alongside himself and the late Eddie Guerrero.

Whether or not the Mysterio family sits together at the same table in the future remains to be seen.
