Rey Mysterio Hints At Rematch With Current WWE Champion
WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has hinted he could be ready for a long-awaited rematch with a current WWE champion.
Rey Mysterio was screwed over in heartbreaking fashion at Clash at the Castle in 2022 by his own son, Dominik. Dominik Mysterio turned on his father and Edge after they did battle with The Judgment Day.
Mysterio then joined the group, where his career flourished as he found a role under the guidance of his “Mami,” Rhea Ripley. Dominik Mysterio proved to be a backstabber again when he turned on Ripley to move on to Liv Morgan. Morgan is currently off WWE TV with a serious injury, and in her absence, Finn Balor has been trying to push a relationship between Mysterio and Roxanne Perez for his own nefarious ends.
In the ring, Mysterio has also found success as he captured the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41. He will have the chance to add more gold to his collection at Worlds Collide when he challenges El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship.
And it seems that if he wins that title, a familiar face might be waiting for him.
Rey Mysterio Keeping Options Open With Dominik
Speaking on the Raw Recap podcast, Rey Mysterio was asked about the possibility of taking on his son again and says he’s keeping that door open:
I’ve kind of let things just be bygones be bygones, you know? Let him do his thing, let me do my thing. But if there comes a time, if he does become Mega Champion and he gets in my face or he just happens to light that spark up once again, of course, there is a huge opportunity for that.
