Rey Mysterio Comments On Dominik Mysterio-Liv Morgan Drama

Rey Mysterio Dominik Mysterio

Rey Mysterio has shared his view on his son Dominik’s decision to align with Liv Morgan.

It was back on the 8th April edition of Raw that Morgan blindsided Ripley by attacking her backstage, inflicting a shoulder injury that would force the Australian Superstar to vacate the WWE Women’s World Championship title that she won from Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39.

WIth Ripley absent, the vilainous Morgan embarked upon a months long campaign to prise Dominik Mysterio away from Ripley, with the Judgment Day member ultimately rejecting the 30 year-old New Jersey natives advances at each turn.

Ripley made her return on the 8th July episode of Raw and was granted a shot at the WWE Women’s World Championship, now held by Morgan, at SummerSlam on 3rd August.

Despite RIpley entering the bout as a heavy favourite, Morgan inflicted the first pinfall defeat of Ripley since May 2022 following interference by Dominik Mysterio.

The controversial star would help Morgan to her feet at the conclusion of the contest before the pair kissed and left Cleveland Browns Stadium together, much to the shock of Ripley and the capacity crowd in attendance.

One man who wasn’t surprised, however, is Dominik’s Father and former WrestleMania opponent, Rey Mysterio. The high flying 49 year-old WWE Hall Of Famer responded to a WWE post about the shocking moment on Instagram, highlighting his son’s habit of turning his back on loved ones:

“He’s a master at what he does, probably the best I’ve ever known & seen with my own 2 eyes. “Turning his back on the ones that care most” #toldyouso”

Rey Mysterio Provides Retirement Update

Having made his debut as a 14 year-old in April 1989, Rey Mysterio has spent over 35 remarkable years in professional wrestling.

The San Diego born star recently confirmed that he has no plans to hang up the boots just yet, however. Despite a nagging knee injury, the former WWE Champion remains a WWE Superstar having signed a new deal with the company in December 2023.
