Rey Fenix’s WWE Debut Officially Announced
The mystery is over because WWE has officially announced when Rey Fenix will compete on television.
There have been videos teasing the debut of a new masked luchador during March on the WWE SmackDown brand.
It isn’t a mystery to a lot of WWE fans because it has been known that Rey Fenix signed with WWE after being let out of his AEW contract.
A video aired during WWE SmackDown in London featuring a masked luchador in an empty ring. The wrestler was shown running the ropes and jumping off the ropes. At the end of the video, it said “Rey Fenix” next Friday on SmackDown.
The commentary team of Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett talked about Fenix with excitement. It was mentioned that Fenix is Penta’s brother and Joe called them the Lucha Brothers, so that name is staying with them as well.
As for who Rey Fenix will face in his WWE televised debut, no opponent was mentioned.
Rey Fenix Brings Experience To WWE
Just like his brother Penta, WWE has signed Fenix and is putting him on the main roster, rather than sending him to NXT. Penta has been receiving a push on the Raw brand and is going after the Intercontinental Title held by Bron Breakker. Fenix will try to have the same kind of success on SmackDown.
During his AEW career, Fenix was a Tag Team Champion with his brother Penta, a Trios Tag Team Champion with Penta & Pac, and he also held the International Title, but that win was because of an injury during a match.
When it comes to aerial skills in a pro wrestling match, Fenix is one of the most spectacular wrestlers alive and will bring a level of excitement when he steps foot in WWE.
