Renee Paquette Getting The Itch For Another AEW Role
Renee Paquette has claimed the crown as AEW’s backstage interview queen but it seems she sometimes gets the urge to try her hand at something else.
Renee Paquette signed with AEW in October 2022 after her time in WWE came to an end two years prior. Paquette had worked as an interviewer in WWE but also made history in the company as well.
While known as Renee Young, the Canadian broadcaster became the first full-time female commentator on Monday Night Raw. Paquette shared announcing duties with Michael Cole and Corey Graves but her tenure at the announce desk only lasted a year before she moved to WWE Backstage.
But could AEW fans hear Renee Paquette back on the call in AEW?
Renee Paquette Considers AEW Commentary Role
Speaking with Cincy360, Paquette admitted that she thought about trying to make the move to commentary in AEW and admits sometimes she gets the itch to return to that role:
Sometimes I think about it. There’s aspects of it that I miss, and obviously this is a far different circumstance with AEW versus what I had done previously. So I think about it sometimes. I love getting to do the interviews. I love getting to do some more of the long-form interviews or some of those really exclusive sit-down things. I love getting to do those.
But yeah, every now and then when I’m listening [to the broadcast], I get a little bit of the itch. A little bit. So we’ll see.
Renee Paquette might have a fight on her hands, however, as AEW currently has a stacked roster of commentators working for the company including Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz, Nigel McGuinness, Ian Riccaboni, and Matt Menard.
