Released WWE Star Reaches Out To Tony Khan
A recently released WWE star is looking to convert their exit into an opportunity.
BJ Ray was one of the wrestlers released by the Stamford promotion on October 10. He made a few appearances on NXT and was also featured on LFG, where, in the first season, he was seen at loggerheads with his coach, Bubba Ray Dudley.
Ray had recently undergone surgery for a torn rotator cuff and labrum.
Just days after his release, the former WWE star took to X to send a message directly to AEW President Tony Khan.

It is not new for AEW to recruit former wrestlers belonging to its rival company. Some of them have even gone on to build better legacies for themselves. Perhaps BJ Ray can walk a similar path.
Reason Behind The Latest WWE Releases Revealed
All wrestlers who were released from WWE before Crown Jewel belong to the developmental grounds such as NXT, ID, and EVOLVE.
No wrestler from the main roster featured on the list.
It included a couple of high-profile names like Lance Anoa’i and former NXT North American Champion Wes Lee.
Other wrestlers who were released were Stevie Turner, Kylie Rae, Zayda Steel, Haze Jameson, Summer Sorrell, Drako Knox, Jin Tala, Jamar Hampton, and Zara Zakher.
As reported by Figthful Select, these cuts were not due to financial reasons, but rather the regular process of cycling out talents whose contracts were up or not renewed.
A report that stated more cuts were soon to come was also debunked.
While BJ Ray has done his part, it remains to be seen whether AEW adds the former WWE talent to its roster.
