Real Reason Jamie Hayter Missed AEW Dynamite Revealed

Fans in Independence, MO were treated to a whole host of AEW action on Dynamite but they did not get to see the current AEW Women’s Champion on the show, and for good reason.

Wednesday’s Dynamite kicked off in unusual fashion with The Young Bucks being seen getting carted off to the hospital as a result of a backstage attack. Despite his own ups and downs with the Jackson brothers, Hangman Adam Page left with Nick Jackson while Kenny Omega was convinced to stay put by the weaselly Don Callis.

Omega picked up a big victory in his bout against El Hijo Del Vikingo but was attacked by the Blackpool Combat Club afterwards – the same men that had attacked The Bucks. Hangman Page made the save but the dastardly tactics of Callis continued to sew seeds of dissension between the former AEW Tag Team Champions.

Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio explained why Jamie Hayter did not make the show and revealed that the AEW Women’s Champion is taking care of visa issues:

“Jamie Hayter, she wasn’t on the show this week. She’ll be back pretty soon, but what happened is she had to return to England for visa reasons, to get her visa renewed and everything like that, which is something that happens.

“All of the foreign talent in WWE from time to time, they might disappear for a couple of weeks every couple of years for this. It’s all worked out and it’s all fine, but I’m not sure which week she’ll be back. But she’s not there right now.”

With Hayter and Dr. Britt Baker missing from the show, it was up to Willow Nightingale and Riho to thwart The Outcasts’ attack after Toni Storm picked up a win over Skye Blue.
