Real-Life Reason Behind Drew McIntyre’s WWE Suspension

Drew McIntyre WWE

Drew McIntyre was suspended from WWE by General Manager Nick Aldis on the November 7th, 2025 episode of SmackDown.

The Scottish Warrior interfered in a match between Cody Rhodes and Aleister Black and took down the referee with a Claymore. Furthermore, Black and McIntyre teamed up to beat up the WWE Undisputed WWE Champion.

Luckily for Rhodes, Damian Priest rushed out to the ring to save him from the heels. The Archer of Infamy was left with an additional injury to his eye during the chaos. Following this, Nick Aldis suspended him.

Drew McIntyre’s contract is not the reason for his WWE suspension

Many speculated that The Scotsman is going off WWE TV because of his contract. However, reports have clarified that his contract with the Stamford-based promotion runs all the way till 2028.

Now, new reports have revealed that WWE put McIntyre off television because he has a movie to shoot. Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio claimed that McIntyre has been suspended as a creative angle so he can make time in his schedule for the movie.

Currently, there is no timeline for his return to the ring. Nevertheless, one can expect him to revive his rivalry against Cody Rhodes when he finally does make a comeback to the global juggernaut’s live shows.
