A WWE power couple had reportedly split in 2023, but reconciled in 2025 and has been going strong.

Rusev and CJ Perry (fka Lana) had been married since 2016, but after seven years of being together, they announced their separation.

The news came as a surprise to their peers as well as fans, having seen them on screen every week, displaying great chemistry as heel characters.

In addition to being a manager, Perry evolved to become an in-ring performer before being released by WWE in 2021. Rusev was released in 2020 as part of the budget cuts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The couple would briefly reunite in AEW in 2023. Perry is currently contracted with the Stamford promotion under a “Legends” contract, whereas Rusev is a full-time performer for the company.

During a recent appearance on TMZ’s Inside The Ropes, Perry discussed what prompted the couple to reunite after their initial separation.

It’s just I think that fact that we’re best friends, we were always best friends first, and that’s why we came back together, too, because you know when you allow your anger, your emotions just to, kind of, settle down, you kind of are like, start to miss your best friend. And I think that was really a big of it is, like, we’re each other’s partners and we’re best friends, and we just needed to give each other space to figure our lives out. [9:48 onwards]
