Raquel Rodriguez Picks Her New Partner On WWE Raw

Raquel Rodriguez found herself having to vacate the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship due to an injury suffered by Liv Morgan but now she has a new partner to go after the gold with.

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were set to defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on Raw recently against Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green but injury put a stop to that.

Morgan and Rodriguez had defeated Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY and Dakota Kai on the 12th of May edition of SmackDown where the former SmackDown Women’s Champion apparently picked up the injury. Instead of the tag team title match then happening on Raw, Rodriguez was in singles action where she defeated Chelsea Green.

Worse was to come for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions on the following SmackDown as Michael Cole revealed that due to the extent of Morgan’s injury, she and Rodriguez had been forced to vacate their title with a fatal four-way match made to crown new champions.

That four-way match will see Raquel Rodriguez and a partner of her choice facing Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler, Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville, and Bayley & IYO SKY of Damage CTRL for the gold on the May 29th edition of Raw. But on Raw in Hershey, PA everyone found out who Rodriguez’s partner will be.

Raquel Rodriguez defeated Sonya Deville in singles action but after the bout, the former champion was attacked by both Deville and Chelsea Green. That brought out Shotzi to make the save and in a backstage segment, it was confirmed that Shotzi will indeed be Rodriguez’s partner in the fatal four-way bout.
