Randy Orton Admits Huge Difference Between US & Overseas WWE Fans
Randy Orton has paid tribute to overseas WWE fans following the wild reactions and sing-alongs he received at Backlash France and the recent European tour.
At Backlash France, a WWE star returned after ten years away to join The Bloodline as Solo Sikoa solidified his grip on the group in Roman Reigns’ absence. Jade Cargill captured the first gold of her WWE career at the event as her stock continued to rise in the company.
But it was undoubtedly the Lyon crowd that stole the show as they showered WWE stars – whether bad guys or good – with chants as the arena shook for most of the night. It was more than just voices in his head Randy Orton heard on the way to the ring for his match as the crowd sang along in full voice to his iconic theme song.
Randy Orton’s Mind-Blown By French Crowd
Speaking to Adam’s Apple, Randy Orton was asked about the difference between US crowds and those overseas and admitted candidly, that it was night and day:
Do you want me to be honest? Night and day. Well, let’s just put it this way. Since 2009, I’ve had the same entrance song. No American crowd has ever sang along to my song. And they did it in France three nights in a row.
Sh*t, we were in Bologna, Italy and Vienna, Austria the first two shows of the tour and I could hear them singing there too. France, just – it was mind-blowing. But just as an example.
But yeah, they were very happy to be there. They were on their feet the whole time. They knew all of us, all of our characters well enough to — they knew what they wanted to expect. We gave it to them. It just made it for an amazing environment. I hope we do more PLEs over there.
