Major Problem With John Cena’s Final WWE Match Highlighted

John Cena WWE

John Cena’s final match date and venue have been confirmed. The only thing the Stamford-based promotion needs to make official is The Champ’s final opponent.

Reports have suggested that The Last Real Champion will face Gunther in his final match. Other names floated into the mix were Brock Lesnar, The Rock, and Drew McIntyre, among others.

Currently, John Cena has a handful of dates remaining, and the global juggernaut may soon set up the creative angle for his final match.

Bully Ray takes issue with John Cena’s final match

The venue for The Champ’s last match is Capital One Arena. While it’s a famed arena, it’s no Madison Square Garden, which has a history with some of WWE’s epic matches.

On Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray gave his two cents about the final match, revealing that Saturday Night’s Main Event at Capitol One Arena is not as big as having the final match at Madison Square Garden or at WrestleMania.

Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C. That’s cool, I like it. I don’t love it. It’s not Madison Square Garden, and it’s not WrestleMania. It’s Saturday Night Main Event. Maybe the President of the United States will be there. Wow, the President of the United States showed up to see John Cena’s last match. That’s cool. It ain’t Madison Square Garden and it ain’t WrestleMania.

That moment you’re talking about, I would back that time out at Mania. You could do anything you want at WrestleMania. Once you got the byes, once you got the asses in the seats, you could do whatever you want. [Potentially] John Cena and The Rock at WrestleMania. I mean, this is the WWE. They think big. At this juncture, it doesn’t feel as big just because of the location. [h/t: WrestlingInc]

John Cena’s next appearance is at Boston, Massachusetts on November 10th, 2025, for Monday Night RAW.
