Positive News On Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega’s health is improving.

On December 15th, Kenny Omega announced that he would be out of action “indefinitely” after being admitted to hospital. It was quickly reported that the star was dealing with diverticulitis.

The news has already impacted AEW creative plans with Omega and Chris Jericho set to challenge for the World Tag Team Titles — a match that has now been scrapped.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer offered an update on Omega’s condition, revealing that he’s doing a lot better.

“It’s been six days since Omega was hospitalized. And by the way, he is doing better, but he’s got a long road ahead of him.”

Meltzer added that he’s working on the idea that Omega will be out for a long time.

“I’m going to go with the idea that Omega is out for a long, long time, so I’m not going to figure him into this [building up challengers for AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF] right now until later.”

Kenny Omega Was Hospitalised Following AEW Dynamite Appearance

Kenny Omega made his most recent AEW appearance on the December 13th episode of Dynamite. However, the former World Champion had been feeling ill for a number of days, even before his match with Ethan Page on Collision.

Omega still attended Dynamite believing he’d only be needed backstage, but he ended up cutting a promo with Chris Jericho in the ring. The pair had been due to meet Ricky Starks and Big Bill at Worlds End.

Immediately after the show, Omega sought out medical advice and was admitted to hospital the next day.
